Enrique Domínguez (Salamanca, 48 años) es un optimista de la tecnología y un emprendedor en serie. Tras fundar empresas como Restalo, una plataforma de reservas de restaurantes, o ElParking, una aplicación móvil para gestionar transacciones relacionadas con coches —Mutua Madrileña se la compró en 2021—, el consejero delegado de Gaiarooms apuntó al sector hotelero, “un mercado con gran potencial, pero con mucho margen de mejora”. Domínguez observó que los pequeños establecimientos estaban rezagados tecnológicamente y no eran tan eficientes como los grandes, haciéndolos difíciles de gestionar. “Los pequeños hoteles están olvidados. Ni los que hacen software ni los fondos de inversión se dedican a ellos”, explica. Por eso nace Gaiarooms, una apuesta tecnológica que reduce los costes operativos de los albergues hasta en un 40%.
